Carmen Davenport brings over three decades of leadership experience in a non-profit healthcare organization, where she has been instrumental in implementing Practice Management and EHR workflows. With a 15-year PM training certification, Carmen developed and managed the company's PM training program and oversaw the Revenue Cycle Department, significantly impacting the organization’s financial health. She has received numerous awards, including the Service Impact, Financial Impact, and Teaching Effectiveness awards.
Carmen's passion for community empowerment has led to her being recognized with prestigious honors such as the 2022 Kimet 360 Black Excellence Award, 2023 S.E.A. Leaders Service Impact Award, 2024 WTLC Melanin Magic Black History Trailblazer Award, and the 2024 InnoPower Black Rising Star Award. Her advocacy for social and economic progress has earned her widespread recognition, including features in the Indianapolis Recorder, news stations, and radio.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Carmen is committed to empowering underserved neighborhoods through Black Dolla Indy, which provides Black-owned businesses with visibility through a business directory, exclusive e-newsletters, social media shoutouts, & live reviews. Carmen has partnered with organizations like Indy Urban League, Verizon Digital Ready, and Indiana Small Business Development Center, leveraging their business courses, mentoring, and coaching to support entrepreneurs and ensure they gain visibility and sustainability.
Carmen's dedication to community empowerment is rooted in her belief that collaboration with organizations such as Edna Martin Christian Center, Urban League, ISBDC, and Verizon Digital Ready will foster a thriving ecosystem where entrepreneurship and opportunity flourish.
